Over 50 students presented their research.

The first Biomedical Engineering West Conference took place at Brigham Young University January 19-20. Sponsored by the BYU Ira A. Fulton College of Engineering and Technology, Oregon State University’s College of Engineering, and University of Portland, this conference is the first of its kind to come to the west.

Be prepared for the STEM Career Fair

The BYU STEM Career Fair will be Thursday, Sept. 21 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the WSC Ballroom. The fair is a great way for students in STEM majors to find internship and job opportunities with major companies, such as Boeing, Amazon and Ford. 

Five students receive Ray Zinn Family Scholarship

Five BYU engineering students recently received scholarships from the Ray Zinn Family Endowed Scholarship Fund in Engineering and Technology. Each student received at least $1,000 each semester of the 2016-2017 school year.

Professors Timothy McLain and Kyle Rollins were announced as winners of the 2016 Governor’s Medals for Science and Technology awarded by Gov. Gary R. Herbert, along with the Utah Science Technology and Research initiative and the Governor’s Office for Economic Development.

NASA to spider silk: new ME professor knows how to handle the heat

From working with NASA to studying spider silk, one of BYU's newest mechanical engineering professors looks forward to sharing his interesting experiences with students. Troy Munro, a Magna, Utah native, graduated in May with a dual PhD from Utah State and Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in Belgium in mechanical engineering and physics. Going to Belgium was an easy and valuable choice for Munro.

BYU’s newest associate professor of manufacturing engineering technology has had great success in the workforce. Now he has come to BYU to share his knowledge and experiences with students.

Yuri Hovanski did his undergraduate work here at BYU in mechanical engineering and then moved on to Washington State University to get his master’s and PhD degrees. He then worked at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in Washington state as a research engineer.

BYU civil engineering alum elected to National Academy of Construction

The National Academy of Construction (NAC) has elected Thomas R. Warne, the 2011 honored alumnus of the Ira A. Fulton College of Engineering and Technology as a member of its 2016 class.
