The 2012 program began on May 2, and continued through mid-June. Students arrived in Nanjing, China to take courses on Leadership and Globalization, as well as basic Mandarin.
Tours were arranged for students to get acquainted with the country so that they could arrange their own trips to Beijing and Shanghai themselves. Tours included visits to many parks in China including one with an 80 ft. tall statue of Buddha. Students were also able to visit Yellow Mountain, the Great Wall, the Terra Cotta Warriors, Shaolin Temple, the Longmen Grottos, the Forbidden City, Tian’An Men Square, and Olympic Park. Students also toured a semiconductor chip packaging facility that makes 2 billion components a year, as well as Celanese Corporation and Nanjing Develop Advanced Manufacturing, LTD.
